Frisco old downtown area needs a vision. Some say it should be allowed to evolve organically. I say that there must first be a vision for transformation that makes sense as a whole. Then this will create plenty of opportunities for individuals and other entities to add their own vision to it and grow as components of that vision. Look at what the Star has brought on it's coattails
I'm an experience designer. When I look at the old downtown, I see a mixture of experiences, from shopping to dining to operating a business to the many people just driving through on their way to somewhere else.
What are those experiences like? Good and bad? What are the key factors that impact those experiences qualitatively? What opportunities exist for altering those driving factors that are most likely to change the dynamics, producing more of the good experiences and less bad ones? This requires a thoughtful process of design thinking. That's what needs to happen and soon before flexibility to act on that vision is gone.
