The Economic Growth Committee remains firmly focused on economic growth and job creation. Recently I received an update and reviewed our progress so far in the areas of water, housing, environment and investment. My administration must ensure that our strategy toward economic growth continues on track as the Government plans the strategic development of Jamaica.

I have taken part in my fair share of groundbreaking ceremonies. Last week I had the pleasure of breaking ground at The Villages of Colbeck Castle Housing Scheme, during the ceremony, the award winning Old Harbour High School Choir delivered a captivating performance that thrilled the audience. Take a look.

Importantly, there is to be forgiveness at the end.

I have requested the National Housing Trust (NHT) to restore the historic Colbeck Castle in St. Catherine. The castle belongs to the people of the parish, and the NHT, the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation and the Jamaica National Heritage Trust (JNHT) must work to reclaim its value.

We should restore these buildings, and have them functional, so that people can live within their walls.... View more »
